Brunel 200 Celebrations

2006 marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the most versatile, audacious and inspirational engineers of the nineteenth century.

Throughout 2006, Brunel 200 led the celebrations of Brunel’s life, times and legacy with exhibitions, learning programmes, publications, walks and trails, arts projects, competitions, debates, media programmes and talks that commemorated the achievements of the past and inspired the Brunels of the future.

Now we are looking back over the events of the year to assess whether the aims of the celebrations have been met. This will help us plan future projects.
